That Black Rhinoceros stands in a waterhole to refresh from the heat. Soft neutral colors cohesively blend into this photograph. It is creating a calm and soothing atmosphere. Particularly, the lightness of the rocks in the background. These contrast against the muscular armor of the Black Rhino and the small dove.

Black and White Rhinos are actually grey in color. However, the difference between you see in their lip shapes. The Black Rhino has a hook-shaped lip. Due to their diet of browsing through trees and bushes for their next meal. The White Rhino has a square lip as they are grazers that search for their food on the ground.

As you see in this photograph, the Black Rhino is a solitary animal. They feed during the night and the gloaming hours of dusk and dawn. Black Rhinos are mostly solitary animals. But when the night arrives they will meet at waterholes. You will find Rhinos socializing with each other.

It is interesting to note that one should never disclose the location in which you spot or photograph a Rhino. Indeed, they are always in danger of poachers. Therefore, naming the area you find them will only help endanger them even more.

Black Rhinoceros, Diceros bicornis, is on the IUCN list as critically endangered.
