Hello to you too. One of the cutest Meerkat looks at you from the Kalahari desert in Africa. Leaning comfortably backward as it sits in an armchair in the living room. Look at the large wide-open eyes, the nose covered with the red earth of the dune. In fact, that triggers something in us humans. What can that be?

You can start to fall in love with Meerkats. No joking, many humans do, especially females. What I have witnessed on one of my photo tours was interesting. While there to photograph the funny animals, the female photographers were even more into it than the men.

But what makes us humans melt for Meerkats? The big eyes, the round face, and the large head. Indeed, that look seems to be associated in our minds with a human baby. Therefore, it triggers the care-taking behavior we all have for babies and baby animals.
