It is dangerous for fisher boats to sail in between these unique icebergs. Indeed it is hard to see ice under the water. Driving against underwater ice can lead to an accident. Undoubtedly it takes lots of experience for a fisher boat for sailing through colossal icebergs.

Statistics show that in 2014, exports of fish and fishing products account for more than 95% of the country’s merchandising trade. The main exports are shrimp, halibut, cod, and crab. In 2013, the fishing sector provided 6 800 jobs in Greenland. That is why it is common to witness a fisher boat idling in the waters. The island’s dependence on its fish industry comes with its problems. Namely, overfishing and marketing fluctuating prices. Therefore, it is one of the primary dilemmas in the late 20th century.
