As the Ezo fox hunts another fox, their legs go up in the air with their long jumps. The outer part of their ears and limbs is black. They do have many similarities with the continental foxes. Both have red fur, a long tail, and the same shape. Sometimes an Ezo fox hunts another fox for rivalry behavior. Also, they try to steal food from other foxes. They are adorable wild animals and a tourist attraction on Hokkaido.
Ezo Fox
As elusive as they are, you can find them living on Hokkaido in a few towns. Building dens in gardens of houses. As a result, it seems they are very used to humans on this island. We have also seen them with the rare red-crowned cranes during their snow flies.
They did not attack the birds at all, instead having fun chasing each other. It was enchanting for us to watch them chasing each other. Inquisitive animals, indeed, they are. These animals also come up close to have a look at you.
Ezo red fox, Vulpes schrencki, is a common animal, especially on the island Hokkaido in Japan.
