Etosha National Park, Namibia, Africa

A lioness stalks through the grass in this color fine art wildlife photograph. Her look in the eyes focuses sharply. She is on the prowl. The predator blends in well in the grassland due to the color of her fur.

The lioness stalks through the grass, she is indeed on the prowl. The lioness blends in well with the neutral colors in the grass. The predator’s coat of fur is similar in color, which makes it a perfect environment to hunt prey. Behind the lioness is a big patch of lush, green grassland. Helping the top part of her body stand out more for the viewers to see. While the lioness stalks through the high grass, with her impressive look, her eyes focus on the person behind the camera. Did I run? No, I was in my jeep observing the lion pride in the grass. That does not mean a car window will protect you from a massive lion when it wants to attack. Also, in a vehicle, you should be careful with wild animals, like lions or leopards.

Lioness Stalks Through High Grass

The Etosha National Park is famous for its endless salt pan that can be seen from space. The salt pan is so large that it covers almost a quarter of the park. With vast congregations of wildlife around watering holes, it is virtually guaranteeing many wild animal sightings. Watching animals at watering holes is a beautiful way of watching their day-to-day natural routines.

Like this lioness on the prowl, or the lion cub stalking through the grass. As winter is the dry season in Namibia, you will see more wild animals and, of course, lions with cubs at water sources. However, the summer is the rainy season and brings about lush vegetation. Therefore, this is the bird-watching season as it brings out all the beautiful chirping bird life. In Etosha, the water sources are either natural springs or human-made boreholes.

The lion, Panthera Leo, is in the category vulnerable in the IUCN Red List.

The camouflage and how brilliantly the animal blends in with the colors. Fascinating capture.
