Red-billed Francolin portrait. This bird was walking around me while I had lunch sitting at a campsite. They are coming up to me to about one meter. Indeed, I took the chance to capture this great portrait of this funny and feisty bird. The feisty little birds are always lurking around me, trying to find some food, scratching here and there in the sand.

Having a sand dust bath was also on his agenda. Generally, the Francolin bird loves to run in front of cars. Francolins do it all the time in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It always makes me laugh when I see them running. They love waking me up early in the mornings with their loud voices. I have always wanted to capture a Red-billed Francolin portrait. His visit during my lunch break was very much appreciated.
