Early sunrise of the beautiful Taj Mahal garden, the view has a peaceful setting. The time when the sun has not entirely risen yet, but the beautiful pastel colors light up this building in soft, fresh, vibrant tones. Two towers on either side of the main building stand tall and proud. To the left of the Taj Mahal stands a smaller red building, the mosque. The Taj Mahal is a famous Indian landmark and tourist attraction, bringing more than a million tourists per year.
The Taj Mahal is a white marble building that was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. We also know as “crown of palaces” in Arabic. The entire building took 22 000 workers to build, and it took 17 years to complete. Emperor Shah Jahan planned to build another Taj Mahal in black marble across the river. His grand plans came to halt due to war with his sons.
Rumors say that the Emperor had from all the workers to built the mausoleum their hands chopped off. The only reason for that; no one should make anything like the Taj Mahal ever again. Indeed a bit too tough!
