Impressive Steller’s eagle is catching a fish from the sea. This raptor has its wings spread fully to lift from the sea surface. In his claws is a fish, and under his legs is a water splash that they made when plunge in to grab the fish. The Steller’s eagle is diving with rapid speed, legs up front to catch the fish on the ocean surface. This process is speedy, and before the fish know it, it’s the eagle’s breakfast.

Steller’s Sea Eagle

Steller’s sea eagles are the largest and rarest sea eagles worldwide. Their appearance is very elegant and impressive. Of course, with such a beautiful bright yellow/orange bill, white forehead, upper wings, tail, and dark black-looking body. Indeed, that looks impressive and colorful. The stand-out feature is its orange-looking legs.

Steller’s sea eagles are undoubtedly the most powerful bird of prey.

They spend most of their time in Siberia and Russia, but in the wintertime, they migrate to Hokkaido Japan. There you can spot them effortlessly flying over the sea or landing on trees. With their elegant looks, it isn’t hard to see them in mother nature.

  • They are the heaviest raptors worldwide.
  • Their bill is bright yellow/orange, which is massive and hooked.
  • Diet is mainly fish.
  • Steller’s Sea Eagles are solitary.
  • They are the largest eagles worldwide.

Steller’s Sea Eagles, Haliaeetus pelagicus, are classified as vulnerable on the IUCN list.
