Storm clouds float above the Makgadikgadi Pans. Beautiful vivid sunset colors, even more, fantastic by the incoming storm. The sun’s rays shining through the clouds. Many palm trees are silhouettes on the ground, making the main focus the magnificent sunset. A perfect sunset photograph of storm clouds in the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Makgadikgadi Salt Pans

In 1970 the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans National Park was declared a game reserve. However, in December 1992, they extended and named it a national park. The park is 4900 square kilometers in size. During the dry season, games such as wildebeest and zebra we witness in the thousands. Predators include lion, cheetah, and hyena. Antelope is the most common type of wildlife in this area. From November to May, we can spot them quickly as they come together at the watering holes. The best time to find birds for bird watching is during the wet season. However, the best time for big game viewing is during the dry season. Like the animals, all congregate at the watering holes.

The wet season brings in storm clouds and enriching sunsets, quenching the whole of the dry Makgadikgadi Pans.
