Three Bengal tigers play in the water. Of course, like all young, they do have lots of energy. They also need to develop their hunting skills. Two of the Bengal tiger cubs enjoy the refreshing water. The third cub is too energetic and wants to play while jumping onto his siblings. He enjoys playing and splashing in the water. The youngster has his right leg lifted. You see his paw underneath very clearly. What a large paw already. The left front leg pulls up to the front as well. Water goes down the paw with his tail lifted. Watching the Bengal tigers play in this small waterhole is fascinating.
Tigers cubs are born with a weight of about 800 grams / 1.7 kilograms. Of course, like all big cats, they are born blind. Therefore, the cubs depend on their mother. It takes around two weeks until they can see. Their mother, called a tigress, will take off with the little ones. She is a busy mother: she spends around 70% of her time with the cubs. In between, she tries to hunt to keep up her energy and give her cubs healthy, nutritious milk. The little elusive Bengal tigers play in the meantime.
Once they have reached the age of 6-8 weeks, they are ready to eat solid food. Reaching the age of 8 – 10 months, the tigress will then take them along to hunt. She will teach the cubs how to capture prey. Undoubtedly, the three Bengal tigers will continue playing until they reach about 15 months.
