Ostrich

That photographic portfolio is of the most giant and flightless bird on earth, the Ostrich. There exist two species, the common and Somali Ostrich. They are members of the ratites. Indeed, they cannot fly but have long legs. Therefore, they can run up to 70 km/h / 45 mi/h per. We find these giant birds mainly in savannahs – the ranges of open arid and semi-arid areas in West, East, and Southern Africa. An adult male bird can have a height of 2.75 meters / 9 feet tall and weigh about 150 kilograms / 330 pounds.

Anette captures these giants in the savannahs of Southern Africa. In our photograph portfolios, you can license photos and purchase as a photographic print.
