This magnificent African elephant bull gives us an up-close and personal look at his enormous tusks. The scenery behind him is breathtakingly beautiful. Undoubtedly a great example of the views you can see in Africa. The colors are vibrant in this photograph. The colors are vibrant in this photograph, brilliant blue of the sky, the orange-brown of the elephant, and the grass’s lush green. Perhaps from the golden afternoon sun spreading warmth across the environment.
Enormous Tusks Of The Elephant
The enormous tusks of this African elephant bull tell us that he is quite old. That is because tusks never stop growing. Therefore, the older the bull, the longer the ivory is. However, due to elephant poaching for tusks, poachers will find African elephants with enormous tusks. As a result, elephants ‘big-tusk-gene’ is becoming increasingly rare. Elephant tusks are also giant teeth.
During adolescence, the bull learns rules that prepare him for adulthood. These include lessons on his social standing within another group of bulls as well as sexual etiquette. Bachelor elephants get together with other bachelors to form groups known as bands. They often split to travel alone or to join another band.
African elephants, Loxodonta africana, are listed in the category vulnerable of the IUCN list.
