Two fisher boats are coming from opposite directions in the fjord. Behind them is a trail of disrupted water. They are beautifully contrasting against the exceptionally smooth water. Icebergs float in the open sea.
Greenland & Fisher Boats
‘Polarcirkel workboat’ is the name of the fisher boats in this photograph. These boats have a great design. Additionally, their build is of excellent quality. They have surprising flexibility, easy to use, and low maintenance. In the Arctic, there are about 2000 of these boats in use. They basically use them in fish farming, the marine industry, the oil and gas industry, emergency services, military, and tour operators. Undoubtedly, Polarcirkel boats have to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Disco Bay is in Greenland in the Arctic circle. Indeed it is home to many species of whales and colossal icebergs. Some are native to this area, and others migrate here from the Caribbean for the summer. You can often see them very close to land.
Disco Bay is indeed a wanders place where you can experience dog sledding. Ilulissat is the primary town in Disco Bay. Ilulissat means “icebergs” in Greenlandic, and these enormous icebergs are the reason most people come to visit this place. Furthermore, the town is ideally located on the coast and near the edge of the Ice Fjord. Indeed the view is outstanding, no matter where you are.
